Which Baby Gate Is The Safest For The Top Of A Staircase?
I’m just curious which baby gates you all suggest for the top of a staircase? We have one mounted now but I don’t find it sturdy/safe enough now that my son is older and pulling on it. He’s 18 months old and attempts to climb on everything these days. I’m worried he will eventually learn to climb out of his crib and head right for those stairs. I would appreciate suggestions ones you do like or ones I should avoid.

For extra stability we sank a 3 inch screw through the pressure mount and into the wall stud. We’ve had 4 year olds jump and yank on it and it didn’t budge. It’s also nice to be able to use your foot to open it, so you can carry a load of laundry and still get through your gate!
Another idea is putting the gate in his doorway, if he tries to get through it you’ll hear him before he gets himself in trouble. You could even put jingle bells on it.
